Liverpool hold firm on striker’s price as Premier League club make formal offer

Jerome SinclairWatford fans have their fingers crossed in the Football Transfer Tavern after the news spread that they are chasing Liverpool’s young star.

There were numerous reports saying the Hornets had made a bid for Liverpool’s Jerome Sinclair but according to the Daily Mail they didn’t meet Liverpool’s £3 million asking price.

There has been a lot of hype surrounding Sinclair after he was the youngest player to play a senior match for Liverpool at the age of 16.

But after making only one first-team appearance this season, he is looking to quit Anfield in search of regular first-team action and Watford could be his next destination – that’s if they can match his price tag.

The teenager’s contract is winding down and after rejecting a new deal at Liverpool he will leave this summer if a new deal cannot be agreed.

Our resident Watford fans feel a move for a new striker is pivotal in the summer, with star striker Odion Ighalo looking likely to leave Vicarage Road in the summer.

Meanwhile, the Reds fans over by the pool table here in the Tavern are not sure what to make of this news, though the majority feel it is best if he departs Anfield.
