Liverpool hold talks with two leading candidates for vacant job

AncelottiLiverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern were surprised but relieved with the dismissal of Brendan Rodgers after the Reds 1-1 draw in the Merseyside derby yesterday and the discussion has quickly turned to who will come in to replace the Northern Irishman.

Jurgen Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti are the names on many punters lips, so they will be happy with the reports from The Daily Mail which suggest both candidates have been approached.

Reports say Ancelotti, who left Real Madrid at the end of last season, flew to London at the weekend to hold talks with Liverpool but former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp is the preferred choice to take over at Anfield.

Klopp has been away from football since leaving the Bundesliga side at the end of last season and Liverpool could have a challenge luring him to the Premier League, as last week it was suggested he will take over at Bayern Munich next summer.

Liverpool fans, who’s your preferred choice to take over at Anfield? Let us know in the comments below!
