There are some smiles on the faces of punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern after Metro predicted another summer transfer switch.
The publication seem to think that Liverpool are about to launch a £7 million swoop for Manchester City defender Micah Richards.
The former England international is now surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium under manager Manuel Pellegrini and has made only 18 appearances in the last two years.
Our punters think that a move could do the defender the world of good in terms of reigniting his career and given how far Liverpool have come under Brendan Rodgers, it is not exactly a massive step down either.
Richards only has a year left on his current deal and Liverpool are confident that they can get the Citizens star for relatively little factoring this in – not to mention the fact that City are keen to allow Richards to leave.
Rodgers has proven to be shrewd in the past when it comes to bringing in players who are unwanted at their current club and reigniting their careers – and we think he might do the same here.
Do you think that Richards will become a Red and rival City for titles going into the future? Let us know your thoughts below.
