And according to the Daily Express, the Reds are set to continue their summer spending with the signing of Schalke youngster Max Meyer.
The midfielder bagged seven goals for the German giants last season and Brendan Rodgers is said to be a big fan.
The club as a whole have been keeping a very close eye on his progress this summer and it is thought they will offer £8 million to try and lure their man.
He’s been described in the German press as the next Mario Goetze and has already been capped as a full international.
Unfortunately for Meyer he didn’t reach Joachim Loew’s final World Cup squad despite making the 30-man provisional’s.
But that could play into Liverpool’s hands as they could continue to build their squad quickly, without the need to wait for he World Cup to finish.
