Liverpool in pole position ahead of Chelsea to sign 39-goal striker

Icardi.jpgLiverpool supporting punters here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are enjoying some banter with the resident Chelsea fans, and the news from Metro is further fuelling the chat here inside the pub!

The publication claims via Tuttosport that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are in pole position over Chelsea in the race to sign Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, with £24.5 million being the amount of money potentially being lodged by the Reds.

Icardi, 22, has notched 39 goals since he joined the Italian giants in 2013, and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is seemingly keen on making a move for the versatile striker.

The majority of our resident Liverpool fans over by the billiards table here inside the Transfer Tavern feel that Icardi would be an excellent buy, however a minority of the Reds fans here feel that the Argentinian is simply not needed, as the club already have an array of attacking talent at the club.

Our landlord pulling pints at the bar here in the Tavern feels Chelsea should be the ones vying for the signature of the Inter Milan forward, as they seriously need to rejuvenate their beleaguered attacking force!
