Can you imagine what it would mean for Liverpool if they were able to strengthen their attacking options further? It could see Jurgen Klopp bring plenty of silverware to Anfield and restore their glory days of the past.
There is no doubt that they have a deadly trio spearheading their attack, however, there have been questions made sitting just behind them, with a lack of creativity being thought to be an issue in the side.
However, if any of the recent reports are anything to go by, Liverpool could finally sort that concern out with this potential acquisition.
What’s the News?
According to a report by Record (via Sport Witness), Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes remains a target for Liverpool who are believed to have ‘shown interest’ in him, whilst AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are also believed to be keen.
It is also claimed that a ‘formal offer’ is yet to be made from anyone, but it is understood if one was made, the Portuguese outfit will not stand in the playmaker’s way.
A €100million clause is thought to be in place, but there is a suggestion that the figure could be a lot lower.
Fernandes has been in sensational form for Sporting Lisbon this season and has seen his performances help him breakthrough as one of Europe’s hottest midfielders. The 24-year-old has 12 goals and nine assists in his 23 Primeira Liga matches so far, which is something Liverpool could certainly do within the middle of their side.
The Portugal international is a hard-working player who can also help his team defend at times, making him a potentially excellent addition for Klopp as he would certainly fit the style of play the German manager likes to utilise at Anfield.
If Liverpool were to have a player like him in the team, their chances of winning trophies would almost definitely be improved as the number of opportunities to score goals in matches will improve, as well as the fact that the 24-year-old obviously has a keen eye for goal.
With the Reds having failed to land an ideal replacement for Philippe Coutinho, Fernandes could be the perfect man to fill the void the Brazilian left when he joined Barcelona.
