Liverpool must view every game they play as must-win from now until the end of the season if they are able to have any real chance of winning silverware. Jurgen Klopp’s side have lacked quality at times in the middle of the field in terms of creativity and it may ultimately cost them in their pursuit of the Premier League table.
However, with the Reds potentially looking to fix that issue in the summer transfer window, one interesting name appears to have emerged as a possible target to solve those concerns.
What’s the News?
According to a report by The Mirror, Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez is thought to be on Liverpool’s radar amid rumours that his future with the Spanish giants is coming to an end, whilst Manchester United are also credited with an interest.
However, it is claimed by El Confidencial that the Premier League outfit could have to pay a transfer fee as high as 60million (£51m), whilst the lowest could be around 50m (£42.6m), despite Bayern Munich having the option to sign him for 42m (£35.8m) following the completion of his loan spell.
Rodriguez will certainly be an expensive signing, regardless of the fee that Real Madrid demand, however, it would be hard to deny what he could bring to Liverpool and their future hopes of winning titles.
The Colombia international is a rather versatile attacker as he can play on either the wing or in the middle of the field, which is something that Klopp could look to exploit if he were to bring him to Anfield.
The 27-year-old has bundles of creativity to offer and would be able to help unlock the deadly trio in front of him by providing them with some of the killer balls that they have dearly missed at times throughout the current campaign.
Rodriguez’s future clearly appears to be away from the Santiago Bernabeu – especially following the arrival of Zinedine Zidane once again – and if Bayern Munich decide against making a move for the playmaker, it must surely be something that the Fenway Sports Group (FSG) and Klopp should consider doing in the summer.
Liverpool fans, do you think FSG and Klopp should try and bring Rodriguez to Anfield? Do you think the Colombian would make the difference needed to win silverware? Join in with the discussion by letting us know your thoughts below.
