Liverpool will have their sights set on going one better in the Champions League this season, after falling at the final hurdle against Real Madrid in the last campaign.
The Reds have the chance to secure an elusive Premier League title as well this season, with a game in hand over Manchester City at this moment in time.
Liverpool are believed to be chasing Ajax’s Matthijs De Ligt, but they aren’t the only team involved in the pursuit as the likes of Juventus, Manchester City and Barcelona are also interested in the Dutchman.
Although, it seems unlikely that De Ligt will prefer a move to Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool, due to other clubs having better relations with his agent Mino Raiola.
Matthijs De Ligt, who is valued at £58.5 million (by Transfermarkt), is arguably one of the hottest prospects in world football having shown great maturity and put in world-class already at Ajax.
Although, it doesn’t look as if Liverpool will be successful in trying to sign the youngster as Juventus appear to be leading the race, with Mino Raiola also being a factor.
