Liverpool join Arsenal in race for international striker

Gonzalo HiguainFootball fans in the Transfer Tavern have been enjoying the wealth of matches on TV this weekend, whilst discussing the latest transfer rumours.

Our Spanish friend has wandered in and informed us of an interesting story emerging on the continent, as Fichajes state Liverpool will fight Arsenal to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli.

Arsenal were heavily linked to Higuain’s transfer in 2011, when he left Real Madrid, but found themselves blown out of the water by the Naples outfit- though interest seems to have remained since.

Supporters of both Arsenal and Liverpool in the Tavern are convinced their clubs need to bolster their forward line in January but are unconvinced that Higuain is the right man to do the job, after struggling on the international stage recently.

He also missed a penalty on the final day of the Serie A season last term, which cost Napoli Champions League football, and our regulars don’t believe he’d provided a major improvement to their sides.

Liverpool fans, is Gonzalo Higuain a good signing for you? Let us know in the comments below!
