Liverpool fans may already be experiencing flashbacks of their side’s title-chasing season with Brendan Rodgers at the helm, as a number of dropped points in recent times has supporters worrying about their title chances once again.
What’s the News?
Rabiot, who is valued at £45 million (by Transfermarkt), has refused to sign a new deal with current club Paris Saint-Germain, which has caught the eye of a number of clubs.
Tottenham and Manchester City have often been tipped as possible landing spots for the France international, but Liverpool’s interest, at least of late, is more recent.
However, the demands could be an issue, with a salary of around €10m post tax per year as well as a signing on fee between €10-15m wanted.
Many Liverpool fans are still getting used to the way Naby Keita operates as they haven’t seen too much of him this season. And, it’s safe to say that the Reds’ midfield is already packed, with the likes of Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Fabinho and Georginio Wijnaldum often being chopped and changed in the middle of midfield.
Adrien Rabiot is slightly different to the current batch of midfielders that the Reds already have at their disposal as he possesses the ability to pick a defence-splitting pass, which has been a real issue in recent times.
One thing that fans would love is to see their side pip title rivals Manchester City to a signing in the summer, especially as Pep Guardiola is desperate to secure a replacement for Fernandinho.
Liverpool fans, do you think Rabiot can fit into Jurgen Klopp’s current midfield? Join the discussion by commenting below.
