The Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern like the idea of this…
Liverpool’s striker troubles in recent years have been well documented in the Tavern.
Since the departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona, the Reds have largely failed to replace him – with no forward able to match the Uruguayan’s lethality.
Daniel Sturridge has given it a go, but the Englishman’s inability to remain fit has proven difficult for Jurgen Klopp to handle.
It will come as no surprise then that the German boss is keen on beefing up his attacking line.
According to SPORT, Liverpool are chasing Alexander Isak – a Swedish forward currently playing for Swedish side AIK.
Despite only recently turning 17, Isak is turning heads across Europe, and SPORT add that clubs including Leicester, Barcelona, and Real Madrid are all keen on him.
Interestingly, Isak has recently been touted as the ‘next Zlatan Ibrahimovic’ – a testament to how highly he is thought of in his native Sweden.
With such high competition, our landlord does not think it is likely that Klopp will land his man – but given how well Zlatan Ibrahimovic has acclimatised to Premier League football – he could prove to be a real hit if Liverpool can land him.
