It is a busy time for Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern and Metro have just added to that with their claim about Wilfried Bony.
According to the publication, Brendan Rodgers is set to make a £19 million move for the Swansea City forward when Luis Suarez makes his move to Barcelona official at the start of next week.
Punters by the bar think that Arsene Wenger needs to keep an eye on that situation!
Bony has been a long-term target for the Gunners and as one of our regulars notes over by the dartboard, it would be typical Wenger to allow a player to slip through his net and join a rival – and probably be quite successful for them as well!
Swansea meanwhile would be powerless to stop a move for the forward who has netted 27 times in the past year for Ivory Coast and the Welsh side.
Should a bid of that kind come in, we would not blame the forward for wanting to move up the league and play Champions League football next season either.
Liverpool fans. Do you think this could be a good replacement for Suarez? Arsenal fans. Should Wenger get a move on and make an official bid for the Ivorian? Let us know your thoughts below.
