Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have had a busy few days celebrating their advancement to the Capital One Cup final and it appears Jurgen Klopp is keen on giving them more reasons to be cheery.
Goal reports that Liverpool are keen on signing highly-rated Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski and could move this month, though their preference is to capture the 21-year-old at the end of the season.
The Udinese talent, who has spent this season on-loan at Empoli, is excelling in Italian football with two goals and five assists across 20 appearances.
Udinese themselves would be open to a sale but their policy is not to let a talented player like Zielinski leave for anything less than €15m and that figure could be as high as €20m should Liverpool accelerate their interest this month.
The risk Liverpool face by waiting until the end of the season is that rival clubs could join the hunt, whilst Zielinski’s price-tag may skyrocket depending on his performances in the European Championship.
Our landlord believes Liverpool should negotiate the deal now but bring the player to the club at the end of the campaign, like they did with Marko Grujic.
