Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool are thought to still be considering a move for one of their long-term targets.
The 27-year-old is understood to have been on Klopp’s radar for the past several months and the Scotland international’s form has continued to impress him.
However, it is also claimed that a move in the summer could be likely, as Liverpool are unlikely to make additions in January.
The Reds, who are looking to win the top-flight title for the first time in 29 years, currently have the likes of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Xherdan Shaqiri to choose from at the moment.
Forrest has been crucial for Celtic this season and it is no surprise his form over the last few months has meant Klopp and Liverpool continue to keep tabs on him.
Valued at £2.7million per Transfermarkt, the winger has hit eight goals and nine assists in his 18 Scottish Premiership appearances so far as the Bhoys look to win their own top-flight title.
Forrest would certainly be a useful option to have at Anfield, however, Celtic will want to do all they can to keep their star man at Celtic Park.
