Liverpool: Echo delivers January transfer verdict

A lot of Liverpool fans have been responding to a tweet from Reds news Twitter account @AnfieldWatch which shared The Liverpool Echo’s story that club sources are professing that the 2019/20 Premier League champions are set for a quiet January transfer window.
This report about club sources playing down the likelihood of Jurgen Klopp’s side conducting significant January transfer business comes despite the Reds having suffered several injury setbacks in the centre-back position, with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all currently sidelined.
Liverpool have been linked with plenty of potential signings in this problem area but if The Liverpool Echo are to be believed, it isn’t certain that the Merseyside club will dip into the transfer market this month, despite those rumours and their current injury woes.
So, how have these Liverpool fans reacted to this transfer claim?
Many Reds fans have been fuming over The Liverpool Echo’s claim after it was shared on Twitter by @Anfield Watch, with some fans of the Merseyside club going so far as to claim that failing to sign a centre-back this month will result in their failure to retain the Premier League title.
“So we don’t want to try and win the league? Makes sense”
“Shocking. We were the team to beat but we’re risking this season’s title. One signing is all we need to ensure this title, FSG agenda in full swing if they cost us this title.”
“No defender, no league, simple”
“Hoping it’s a smokescreen and will trust Klopp no matter what but really think it would be a huge mistake not to add a centre back”
“If nobody comes in, kiss 20 goodbye”
“Is it that hard to sign a proper CB, @LFC? Such a stingy club.”
Will Liverpool win the league if they don't sign a centre-back?
