Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are getting excited whilst they enjoy their pints after reports suggested Jurgen Klopp has made a very important move on the transfer market.
Spanish publication Don Balon state Klopp has insisted Liverpool sign Marc-Andre Ter Stegan from Barcelona, despite handing Simon Mignolet a long-term deal this week, with The Daily Express citing that a £10.8m bid has been lodged.
Belgian goalkeeper Mignolet has been under immense criticism this season, though Klopp has remained loyal to his first-choice stopper, but links surrounding the signing of a new goalkeeper continue to rise.
Ter Stegan is highly-coveted following his success with Borussia Monchengladbach and now Barcelona, where he won the Champions League in his inaugural season, but the German has failed to land the permanent number one role amid competition from Claudio Bravo.
Despite that competition for places, and the fact that Bravo is a very capable goalkeeper, Barcelona are unlikely to want to let 23-year-old Ter Stegan leave and the player himself will likely want to continue at a Champions League level.
Our landlord believes Liverpool should end their pursuit before they get hurt, as he can’t see this deal ever taking place.
Liverpool fans, do you have any chance of landing Ter Stegan? Let us know in the comments below!
