Liverpool launch move for £11.9m midfielder, talks with Klopp held already

kloppp33Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are excitedly discussing speculation about a signing they feel could be the third early capture of Jurgen Klopp’s summer, with deals for Joel Matip and Marko Grujic already secured.

Metro cites comments from Gazzetta Dello Sport reporter Nicolo Schiara, who indicates the Reds have made a €15m offer to Udinese for the talented 21-year-old, which works out at around £11.9m.

The young midfielder, who has shone this season on-loan at Serie A side Empoli, has previously admitted he has held talks with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp and praised Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho extremely highly.

Liverpool are looking for major changes this summer to bolster their squad for next season, where they’ll be aiming to push back into the top-four, and Klopp seems to be targeting relatively unknown young players to develop at Anfield.

Whilst that may seem concerning to some supporters, it’s worth mentioning that a similar approach at Borussia Dortmund led to the emergence of Mario Gotze, Robert Lewandowski and Mats Hummels are household names- and if he can replicate that success it’ll be extremely exciting timed for Liverpool.
