Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are debating the latest piece of transfer gossip with their Arsenal counterparts, as their friendly game of darts was interrupted by intriguing reports.
Spanish outlet Fichajes states that Liverpool are currently the most realistic option for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who could be forced out of Arsenal this summer after struggling to make an impact.
The England international has seen his development hampered by regular injury problems, with the winger set to miss up to two months with his latest issue, whilst his on-field performances have been lacklustre.
As such, Arsenal could offload the youngster this summer and Liverpool are keen on his signature- although they face competition for his former club Southampton and Merseyside rivals Everton.
Whether Arsenal would genuinely accept the departure of a player they’ve spent five years developing remains to be seen, especially as there’s no doubting Oxlade-Chamberlain has talent and he is still just 22-years-old.
Our landlord feels Oxlade-Chamberlain could do with a loan spell next season to help his development, stating that a similar move helped Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere.
Arsenal fans, should Oxlade-Chamberlain be offloaded? Let us know in the comments below!
