The Guardian have Liverpool fans looking up with smiles on their faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they seem to think that Steven Gerrard has been speaking about two of the club’s most high profile players.
Gerrard has not only called Jordon Henderson the ideal choice to take the skipper’s armband from him, but he has also stated that Henderson and Raheem Sterling are at the ‘opposite ends of the spectrum’ and had some harsh words for the winger.
Gerrard claimed: ‘Jordan’s so professional, he’s a winner, a great lad. He’s been loyal to the club by signing a new deal and I wish him well.’
We think Gerrard is bang on the money, and winger Sterling has shown nothing but distaste for the club and their manager, whereas Henderson has gone above and beyond what has been required of him, filling in for Gerrard when he was on the bench or injured last season.
Liverpool fans. Is this true? Do you think Henderson is the right man for the job? Let us know your thoughts below.
