The Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been a fairly satisfied bunch during the current campaign, with the contingent eagerly looking forward to German boss Jurgen Klopp’s first full season in charge.
Klopp has already guided his side to two cup finals since his arrival at Anfield, with many Liverpool fans expecting the Reds to challenge for the top four next season, with the right additions.
Our landlord has spotted an interesting piece in today’s Express via The Sun, who are claiming that the German boss could be about to make Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard part of his backroom team next season.
The midfielder left the Reds for LA Galaxy last summer and has made his intentions clear to return to Liverpool very soon, with his playing days coming to an end.
Gerrard has his heart set on a coaching role with the Reds once he hangs up his boots and it seems that it could happen at some point in the coming years.
One Liverpool fan is sat in the Tavern with an old university pal and he thinks that Gerrard would be a great role model for the younger lads at Anfield, stating that he would make a great addition to the backroom staff at the club.
Liverpool fans, would you welcome Gerrard back to the club? Can he be a good coach? What would he offer?
