There is some very, very, painful rumours coming into the Transfer Tavern today for the boozy fans of Liverpool Football Club.
Yesterday it was reported that the chief commissioner of the MLS has all but ruled out a fairytale return for Steven Gerrard in the American League’s off-season, and that alone ruffled a fair few feathers amongst the Kop faithful.
Today, however, the heart ache that the departure of their former Captain has caused has only been made worse from the reports coming in from The Mail.
Steven Gerrard, who made his debut for the Merseyside club back in 1998, went on to make over 700 appearances for the club and his departure did not sit well with many Liverpool lads in this pub.
Today, the Mail are revealing that Gerrard himself says he misses playing for the Anfield outfit, and if the right deal had been put on the table, he could have stayed for longer.
