Liverpool line up Alberto Moreno transfer plan B

Ryan BertrandFans in the Football Transfer Tavern are in a sour mood after seeing England’s faint chances of World Cup progression die yesterday.

Italy’s defeat to Costa Rica means Roy Hodgson’s men will be travelling home so it is probably time to ignore it all and concentrate on domestic football.

One club that has been working hard behind the scenes is Liverpool and according to the Daily Star, they could be set for a shock move for Ryan Bertrand.

The Chelsea left back has failed to secure a first team place at Stamford Bridge and that is unlikely to change despite the departure of Ashley Cole.

Liverpool had been chasing Sevilla defender Alberto Moreno with a £16 million deal but the La Liga side are stalling.

Reports suggest that they are holding out for up to £20 million for the Spaniard.

But Brendan Rodgers is ready to throw in the Moreno towel in favour of a cut-price deal for Bertrand.

Liverpool fans. I would not want to spend £20 million on a defender, but is Bertrand good enough for your side? Let us know your thoughts below.
