Liverpool fans are looking up with interest here in the Football Transfer Tavern as the Daily Mirror claim the club are after Spanish international winger Diego Capel.
The Sporting Lisbon player could well be available for a cut price fee in the summer given the money worries at the Jose Alvalade and now Brendan Rodgers is set to join the chase for the midfielder. It has also been rumoured that Andre Villas-Boas has his eye on the former Sevilla man and given the 25-year-old is set to be available for around £10 million, that is little surprise.
Ligue 1 giants Marseille are also considering a move for the winger who came through the La Masia academy before being released by Barcelona, spending time in Seville before his move to Portugal’s Primeira Liga in 2011. The club are reluctant to let one of their star players leave but given their current economical situation, Sporting have little choice and are putting the feelers out to see just who is interested in the exciting player.
Liverpool are looking to inject some pace and creativity into their side this summer and Northern Irishman Rodgers sees Capel as an ideal candidate to do that for his Reds side.
Will Brendan Rodgers land Diego Capel in the summer? Do Liverpool possess enough wide men already? Rate this rumour below.
