The rumours are unsurprisingly coming in thick and fast and according to Mail Online, Liverpool could be making a shock move for former Barcelona ace Victor Valdes.
Valdes is currently out injured until December but the Merseyside club are still interested in signing the 32-year old Catalan keeper as back-up to Simon Mignolet.
Valdes is a free agent after his release from his boyhood club this summer and it had been thought that he would head to Monaco for a big money deal with the French side.
However, it now looks like he will now be off to Liverpool instead with Brendan Rodgers now turning his attentions to Valdes.
The decision came after a move for Alex McCarthy came to nothing with the Reading goalkeeper joining West London outfit Queens Park Rangers instead.
Liverpool fans. Valdes won’t come cheap and is there any point paying big wages for a reserve goalkeeper? Let us know your thoughts below.
