The Euro 2016 draw has been concluded today and all the talk in the Football Transfer Tavern is about the simple looking task England have been handed.
As one punter quips, it is probably harder to get served at the bar on a busy Saturday night than the group England have to navigate.
However the arrival of some interesting reports into the tavern has turned matters back to today’s latest speculation as Metro suggests that Liverpool could look to sign Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema in the summer.
The French international, who is likely to star at the Euros in his native country, was thought to be out of reach for the Reds but with potential Champions League football at Anfield in the near future, perhaps he could be persuaded to join Brendan Rodgers’ revolution.
Rodgers has already confirmed that he wants to add some ‘world-class’ talent to his squad ahead of a possible Champions League return and Benzema certainly fits that mantle.
The possibility of playing alongside the exceptional Luis Suarez is one that could influenced the Madrid to leave the Bernabeu, with his value thought to around the £25 million mark.
The mere thought of Suarez, Strurridge and Benzema heading the Reds attack is a scary one for rivals.
Would the French star really consider a move to Anfield? Let us know your thoughts below.
