Liverpool linked with move for top Wenger target

The Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are desperate to see manager Jurgen Klopp bring in a couple of big names this summer as the German looks to build a side ready to take on the Champions League in the new season.

With that in mind, reports from French newspaper L’Equipe (via Sport Witness), have claimed that the Reds are interested in a move for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The French international enjoyed an outstanding campaign last season, scoring 37 goals in all competitions leading to interest from around the continent.

Reports have suggested that Premier League rivals Arsenal considering the forward as a top target, having lost out on a deal last summer.

Our landlord reckons that, whilst the Reds finished in the Champions League places and the Gunners have had to settle for Europa League football for a season at least, the striker would still be more inclined to make a move to north London, where he would arguably be the main man alongside Alexis Sanchez and would undoubtedly lead the line. Whereas in Klopp’s system he would more than likely play a deeper role.

Liverpool fans, we want to hear from you! Do you think that Klopp could pull off this deal? Let us know in the comments…
