Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have taken their attention away from the Euro 2016 action to discuss reports that one of the men at the tournament could become Jurgen Klopp’s latest addition.
Zielinski is said to have spoken to Klopp on the phone over the weekend, where the German boss gave the 22-year-old assurances on his playing time at Anfield next season, if he agreed a move to the Premier League giants.
However, Liverpool face competition from Italian giants Napoli for the winger’s services but the Serie A side’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, confirmed the player’s preference is to sign for Liverpool.
“Liverpool have made a bid for him and Zielinski wants to join them but we are trying to convince the player to join us, because we have an agreement with Udinese.”
Liverpool have already made three additions this summer, having agreed deals with Marko Grujic and Joel Matip midway through the last campaign, and a deal for German stopper Lorius Karius was completed before Euro 2016 kicked-off.
