Liverpool looking to bolster their ranks with Dutch international

Michel Vorm - Swansea CityLiverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are puzzled as to why they are being linked with another top goalkeeper ahead of what is set to be a very busy transfer period for them.

Mail Online claim that Brendan Rodgers has his eyes on Swansea City goalkeeper Michel Vorm, to provide competition for current number one choice Simon Mignolet.

Liverpool will be playing Champions League football next season and will be looking to bulk up their squad for their extra run of games and Vorm has reportedly met that criteria.

The 30-year-old Dutchman has been an ever present for the Welsh outfit in recent times and it’s no suprise to see him linked with a move to a club of a larger stature – but it’s unlikely that Vorm would leave the Liberty Stadium for a place on the Anfield bench.

One Liverpool fans in the tavern has just asked why Rodgers doesn’t just recall Pepe Reina to sit on the bench and to be fair he has a brilliant point.

The Spaniard is currently on a season-long loan with former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez at Napoli, but it seems like a return to Liverpool is off the cards.

Liverpool have also scouted Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Karl Darlow but it’s believed that Rodgers has his eyes on somebody that can offer a little bit extra experience.

Liverpool fans. Should Vorm be lured to Anfield or should Reina be asked to see out his contract at the club? And what about Brad Jones? Let us know your thoughts below.
