Liverpool make £24.6m bid to hijack Chelsea’s incredible deal

Alex TeixeiraChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern had to be separated from their Liverpool counterparts this afternoon, as an all-out bar brawl started following reports that the Reds are looking to hijack an incredible deal.

The Guardian states Liverpool have lodged a £24.6m bid to capture Shakhtar Donetsk star Alex Teixeira, with chief executive Ian Ayre flying out to America to negotiate a deal, where the Ukrainian side are preparing for the Florida Cup.

It signifies a major change in the transfer market, as just last week The Evening Standard reported that Chelsea were the favourites to land the Brazilian goal-grabber.

However, it seems the struggling Blues will be handed further blows by their Premier League rivals as Liverpool are confident they can reach an agreement with Shakhtar to bring Teixeira to England- though the Ukranian side want in excess of £30m.

With Liverpool struggling for goals this season, having scored just 25 in 22 league games, our punters believe they can’t pinch the pennies in this deal and have urged the Reds to pay whatever it takes to capture the sensational forward.
