Liverpool make contact over move for £42m-rated attacker as Klopp eyes January move – report

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for a few signings at Anfield in January. It has been a decent season so far for the Reds, but a big name acquisition or two could be enough to turn them into genuine title contenders. If they can bring in another player with the impact of Mohamed Salah, then Klopp’s men could be unstoppable.

One man that certainly has the potential to have that sort of impact is Hirving Lozano, and according to the Daily Star, that’s exactly who Klopp wants to bring in. An attacking midfielder by trade, Lozano – who the Daily Star rate at £42 million – is also attracting Arsenal, but Jurgen Klopp has apparently made initial contact regarding a move, with the German clearly a big fan.

Lozano has enjoyed a prolific season with his current club PSV Eindhoven. He has dominated the Dutch Eredivisie, having bagged a stellar 11 league goals so far this term, and he’d certainly be able to provide a lot of excitement to the Anfield faithful.

A fantastic passer, crosser and set-piece taker, he would add yet another exciting attacking arm to an already very exciting offensive unit at Anfield.

The prospect of him partnering the likes of Sadio Mane and Mo Salah has left our resident Reds feeling very excited indeed.

Landlord’s Verdict

Lozano is clearly a very talented player. £42 million is a lot of money, but he’s a top talent, and that’s the going rate for one of Europe’s most talented young players.

That said, the Reds need to prioritise a bit of a defensive rebuild first, but if Klopp has money to spend, he could do far worse than Lozano.
