Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are reacting to the latest twist in a drawn out saga, with reports that their club has made another move in the market.
The Daily Star says Liverpool have made a third offer for Alex Teixeira, reported to have been for £31m, but Shakhtar Donetsk have refused the offer and are standing firm on their asking price of £38m.
Liverpool have already seen offers of £25m and £28m rejected by the Ukrainian side, despite the Brazilian midfielder making it quite clear he is keen on leaving to join a side in the Premier League.
The Reds are seeking ways to improve their attacking contingent at Anfield following a roller-coaster season, that has seen Christian Benteke struggle after making a £32.5m move from Aston Villa, and the Merseyside giants are not guaranteed European football next term.
Our landlord believes they’re making a fool out of themselves and are setting up for disaster, stating that if they want to capture the star they need to match his asking price immediately.
Liverpool fans, can you land Teixeira for lower than £38m? Let us know in the comments below!
