Liverpool and Leeds are still two of the biggest clubs in the land in England, and despite going through different fortunes over the last two decades, can still call on massive fanbases and high expectations season after season.
The Reds are looking to qualify once again for the Champions League, and remain in with a chance of winning the trophy this term, while Leeds have once again fallen short of a playoff spot in the Championship.
The two giants of the English game are rarely seen together now, but our landlord here in the Tavern thinks that there could be some links to be made between the clubs, and he thinks Leeds need to be going all out this summer to seal the loan signing of young striker Dominic Solanke.
The young England striker started the season in good form and looked to be making a case for a regular starting berth at Anfield, but he has since fallen down the pecking order, and chances have been few and far between under Jurgen Klopp.
A loan spell away from the club and into the Championship with a club the size of Leeds could prove to be a massive and important move though for Solanke, who there is little doubting has the ability to be a top striker in the English game.
Pacey, a good finisher, and with a point to prove, he could well be the perfect sort of signing this summer for Paul Heckingbottom’s men.
Leeds and Liverpool fans, what do you think? Good move? Let us know in the comments!
