That’s because the Daily Express are reporting that both Brendan Rodgers and Louis van Gaal are weighing up moves for Barcelona’s Daniel Alves.
Alves is out of contract at the Camp Nou next summer and both the player and Barcelona have agreed that it will be his final season with the Catalan club.
He has struggled to hold down a first team place at the club after they signed Douglas this summer, not to mention the emergence of Martin Montoya with the former star joining for £4.5 million from Sao Paulo.
The decision leaves Alves as a free agent next season and he is likely to attract the interest of a lot of teams around the world.
Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan are also planning on making moves for Alves but he may also receive big money offers from the Indian Premier League, MLS and the UAE.
Manchester United fans and Liverpool fans. Would the short-term signing of Alves make sense or would his wages be far too expensive? Let us know your thoughts below.
