Liverpool & Manchester United target confirms he wants to move

LallanaBBC Sport has added to the growing impression here in the Football Transfer Tavern that Southampton are seriously struggling to keep hold of their players.

Just a day after seeing Rickie Lambert leave for Liverpool, now Saints captain Adam Lallana has asked to leave the club.

Given the St. Mary’s Stadium club are without a manager, this is not exactly great timing or something that will attract a new boss to the club – but there is very little Southampton can do to keep Lallana.

One of our punters reminds us that both Liverpool and Manchester United are keen on the England star with Liverpool already having submitted a £25 million bid for the player.

Lallana joined Southampton at 12 years of age and our regulars seem to think that the 27-year-old deserves his big move after helping the club get back to the top flight from League One. Not to mention the fact that the Saints are selling all their top stars!

Luke Shaw is also one of the favourites to leave and we think that Jay Rodriguez will also be looking to the exit door upon his return from injury and Lallana cannot be expected to stay after a summer exodus.

Liverpool fans. Do you think Lallana asking to leave might push though a deal before the World Cup starts? Is he worth £25 million? Let us know your thoughts below.
