Supporters enjoying dinner in the Football Transfer Tavern have been left intrigued with the newest update surrounding a possible Premier League arrival.
The Express suggests that Cruzeiro midfielder Everton Ribeiro has played down talk of a summer exit despite the fact that Manchester United and Liverpool are thought to be chasing his services.
The 24-year-old’s agent claimed that Cruzeiro had rejected a bid for him during the January transfer window from an unnamed English side, with David Moyes lining up a summer move.
Despite the talk surrounding his future, Ribeiro stayed put in Brazil where he played for his entire career since making his professional debut with Corinthians in 2007.
The highly-rated winger has recently been linked with a switch to Serie A side Napoli in the Italian press, but he was keen to cool rumours of a departure.
“The time for speculation is over,” he told UOL.
“I am now focusing on my games and improving so everything works out.”
We’re not sure if the Brazilian will be heading to the Premier League any time soon but what do you think? Let us know your thoughts below.
