Liverpool & Manchester United to go head-to-head for Cameroon international?

Alex Song Manchester United and Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are having an argument about who’s better after rumours surfaced that they’re chasing the same player.

The Mirror claim that it’s Cameroon international Alex Song that is turning Premier League heads after seeing his career stall at Barcelona.

The 26-year-old only left England two years ago when the Spanish giants lured him away from Arsenal in a £16 million deal.

But it is thought that Song could be made available for as little as half that and it’s that revelation that has caught the eyes of the Premier League duo.

In March, Song revealed his desire to someday return to England but nobody expected it to be so soon.

And now United and Liverpool look set to challenge that theory with a bid for the nephew of Cameroon legend Rigobert Song.

If Rigobert has any influence on the move you can expect to see him sign for Liverpool in the not too distant future.

Rigobert played 33 times for Liverpool in the Millennium season and become somewhat of a cult hero among fans.

Manchester United fans. Would you take Alex Song with open arms or are you happy for Liverpool to nab this transfer target? Let us know your thoughts below.
