Our resident Swansea City fans have had to endure a relatively disappointing first half of the season, but their might be some good news after The Sun claimed that the Liberty Stadium side are looking to re-sign Joe Allen in a shock move.
The Welsh midfielder is currently playing under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, but Swans chairman Huw Jenkins is convinced that he can lure Allen back to his boyhood club.
The 25-year old has only managed 1 league start for the Anfield club this season and he was an unused substitute during their 1-0 loss to rivals Manchester United at the weekend, whilst his latest appearance saw him score an equaliser against Arsenal from the bench.
Hoping to capitalise on his frustrations surrounding his lack of playing time, Swansea are expected to make a bid in the region of £8 million for the midfielder.
However, Liverpool have reportedly insisted that they are not looking to sell the Welshman after they have suffered from several injuries.
Allen moved to Anfield back in 2012, following former Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers in a deal worth £15 million.
But our landlord believes that Allen would be an integral part of the Swansea side as they look to avoid relegation and any move is likely to be funded by the sale of Bafetimbi Gomis.
