Liverpool miss out as forward elects to join Barcelona

Ezequiel LavezziLiverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are gutted after hearing one of their prime targets has agreed to a move elsewhere at the end of the season, snubbing the Reds interest.

TalkSport state Liverpool and Tottenham are both keen on Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi but the Argentine has reportedly agreed a move to Barcelona at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old will be able to move on a free transfer at the end of the season and can start discussing a pre-contractual agreement with clubs outside France as early as January, though that seems meaningless with the latest developments.

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is keen to strengthen his attacking options after losing Pedro Rodriguez to Chelsea over the summer and Lavezzi would play back-up to first-choice trio Luis Suarez, Neymar and compatriot Lionel Messi.

Liverpool fans at the bar have made their discomfort in this deal known as they believe Catalonia is a waste of his talents, as he would be a first-team star at Anfield and not second-fiddle to the finest trio in world football.

Liverpool fans, can you potentially hijack this deal? Let us know in the comments below!
