Liverpool fans are looking up with anticipation here in the Football Transfer Tavern as Metro have claimed that the club are considering a move for Real Madrid’s Jose Callejon.
The Spaniard is currently considering life after Jose Mourinho at the Bernabeu and knows that not only are Liverpool interested in him but the Premier League represents a new and intriguing challenge.
Having never really been a first choice player at Real Madrid, and spending time at inferior clubs such as Espanyol, the player now seems to be facing the fact that his time at the club is finally at an end.
Brendan Rodgers is a fan of the versatile forward and is looking to make an offer for him. Given the fact that Carlo Ancelotti has just arrived at the club, no one really knows his stance on Callejon, yet Northern Irishman Rodgers is confident that the 26-year-old will be allowed to join his Reds revolution for a reasonable price.
Callejon is already behind Angel Di Maria in the pecking order for Los Blancos and now with the arrival of Malaga’s Isco it seems he will face a bigger fight for a starting berth if he remains.
Will Liverpool be able to tempt Callejon to Anfield this summer? Rate this rumour below.
