During the World Cup, many players used the stage to enhance their reputations dramatically. For example, Kylian Mbappe went from being a young player with incredible potential to genuinely one of Europe’s best individuals, and now he’s certainly up there amongst the most exciting talents in world football.
It wasn’t just the winners of the tournament that finished their run in Russia in a positive light. Indeed, many players that perhaps didn’t go quite as far with their teams also shone, and that’s certainly true of Mexican sensation Hirving Lozano.
Currently playing for PSV, the midfielder dazzled in Russia, and he’s continued that form this season, too. Significantly, he’s said to be a man in-demand, with Chelsea one of the sides apparently interested in his services.
Make no mistake, Lozano is a great player, and one team that should also be involved in the race for him is Liverpool.
Best utilised as an attacking midfielder, Lozano would add some real quality to the midfield at Anfield. Like many of the current crop of players at the club, the Mexican is an incredible dribbler and passer, and he’s able to move quickly and efficiently with the ball at his feet. Always looking to make an impact going forward, he’s so positive, and his energy and enthusiasm for attacking has been crucial for PSV this term.
Liverpool do have a lot of talent in his position, but he’s able to play both out wide and through the middle, meaning that he’d be a versatile option for Klopp. Furthermore, he’d also take the emphasis off of Sadio Mane and Mo Salah somewhat, and given how many games Liverpool are playing at present, that’s just what they need.
Jurgen Klopp has been able to have an incredible impact on so many young players over the years, and at 23-years-old, Lozano could be his ideal next project.
