Liverpool nearing €10m raid on Klopp’s former club, player almost certain to leave

The Liverpool fans treating their pre Europa League final nerves with a few too many Transfer Tavern pints have been handed another major boost from Germany.

As if the levels of excitement brought to the club upon the arrival of Jurgen Klopp wasn’t enough, the former Borussia Dortmund coach looks to be making serious moves in the transfer market.

According to German outlet Kickerthe Reds have activated the release clause of Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius in an effort to lure him to Anfield this summer.

Current custodian Simon Mignolet has attracted widespread criticism this season, while backup Adam Bogdan has done little to prove himself between the posts.

To that end, they are said to have agreed to pay the €10m fee that would open talks with the 22-year old German stopper.

He only signed a new deal with Mainz, ironically enough a club Klopp used to manage, last January though is now believed to be almost certain to leave the Bundesliga outfit in the coming months.

Is Karius really an upgrade on Mignolet? Are you excited about Klopp’s transfers so far?
