The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are growing increasingly concerned about the future of Emre Can…
The midfielder’s contract expires at the end of the season, and according to recent reports from the Liverpool Echo, the two parties appear no closer to agreeing fresh terms.
Having made 94 Premier League appearances for the Reds, Can’s importance to the team is clear for all to see, and he has become a regular member of the first team under Jurgen Klopp.
Versatile and consistent, he’s the sort of player that every team needs, and his energy and determination would be a massive loss in the heart of the midfield.
It would be a particular blow to lose him on a free, and with the January transfer window emerging on the horizon, that prospect is becoming all too real for the fans in the Transfer Tavern.
Clearly there appears to be a problem behind the scenes, but over the next few months, Liverpool surely need to make this priority number one. He’s arguably one of their most important players, and it would be an unmitigated disaster to lose him, particularly on a free.
The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are mostly in agreement on this matter, but a few fans have spoken out on the contrary. Unimpressed by him, they feel as though his departure wouldn’t be the end of the world, placing more focus on the lack of financial reward for his sale over anything else.
It’s clearly a decision that is dividing behind the scenes, but what do you think? Is a deal essential for Liverpool, or could they do without Can next season?Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
