There are some interesting looks around the Football Transfer Tavern this morning with the news reported by Sky Sports.
The publication is suggesting that Manchester City’s long serving defender Micah Richards will not be signing a new deal with the club and will therefore will be looking to move over the summer.
This has reportedly alerted a host of Premier League clubs who are looking to snap up the former England international on a bargain deal with just 12 months left on his contract.
A source told Sky Sports: “It is with a heavy heart that Micah has told City that he will not be signing his new deal and they have now accepted he will be leaving. Micah has grown up at City and given his all but this is the right time to move on.”
The likes of Liverpool and Newcastle United are known to be keeping track of the 25-year-old’s situation at the Etihad Stadium and could now be alerted to his possible availability.
Richards has clearly decided that it is time for a new challenge after spending his entire career with the Citizens and given his lack of game time who can blame him?
Do you think that City are right to let Richards leave at this stage of his career? Let us know your thoughts below.
