Liverpool have been stepping up their recruitment drive this summer and will be delighted with the progress they have made in the transfer market.
The Reds have finally managed to add Alisson Becker to the squad as Jurgen Klopp was desperate to bring in a world-class goalkeeper, following the howling displays by Loris Karius.
The Brazil international has joined up with Fabinho and Naby Keita as the Anfield outfit’s newest arrivals, however, it is thought that the club are still actively seeking new additions.
However, one area Liverpool are not looking to improve is at centre-back, despite plenty of reports suggesting that the club have been pursuing Domagoj Vida.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the club has no intention of bringing a defender to Anfield this summer and are baffled by the speculation surrounding them with linking the Besiktas man, with reports also suggesting they have had a bid turned down.
Klopp feels that they have enough cover, with Dejan Lovern and Virgil van Djik expected to be the main pairing, whilst Ragnar Klavan, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are also a part of the squad.
Not everything that comes out from Liverpool should be trusted these days if recent history is anything to suggest.
The club continuously denied any involvement about making an offer for Alisson originally, whilst they endured the whole Nabil Fekir saga as well.
The defence has been shaky at times, however, Klopp may feel confident with it after watching Lovern impress at the World Cup, taking Croatia to the final, but then again, so did Vida.
