Liverpool have been very impressive in the current campaign as they continue to hunt down an elusive trophy under Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds are yet to get the best out of Mohamed Salah but still find themselves in a promising position to challenge for the title, so things are certainly looking up for the Merseyside club. And, it appears as if they’re eyeing a potential swoop, as according to Calciomercato (via The Daily Star), Liverpool are observing Piotr Zielinski’s situation.
Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Napoli star Piotr Zielinski
Jurgen Klopp is a huge fan of the Poland international and tried to sign the midfielder in 2016.
Interestingly, Liverpool have not let their interest wane, though, and remain interested in his services.
And, it’s thought that Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis would demand his full release clause, currently at £57 million (€65 million).
However, the Stadio San Paolo chief is working hard to get his star man to sign a new contract, which would push his release clause up to £114 million (€130 million) and would effectively mark Liverpool out of a price.
Piotr Zielinski has been so impressive since making the move to Napoli as he continues to produce goals and assists over in Italy. Although, with his current contract situation surrounded with doubt, a move away could be in the offing at some point in the future.
Indeed, the Reds already invested in a couple of midfielders during the summer transfer window, but it appears as if Klopp is eyeing even more reinforcements.
