Liverpool on the verge of sealing £22m deal for 24-year-old attacker?

CheryshevLiverpool supporters here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are feeling excited as they read the news from Metro – with the publication claiming that the Reds are closing in on a £22 million deal for Real Madrid attacking midfielder Denis Cherysev.

It seems that the Russian has had limited first-team opportunities during his time at the La Liga giants, and has had stints on loan at Sevilla and Villarreal.

Cherysev has not made one single appearance for the Real Madrid first-team, and the news here in the Transfer Tavern is that Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool are keen on bringing him to Anfield for next season.

As our landlord over by the bar quips, Cherysev is only 24 so has a large part of his career left, but whether he is worth the touted £22 million price-tag is debatable.

A group of Liverpool fans here inside the Tavern agree with the sentiment of the landlord, with most of them agreeing that he looks a promising talent, but the price-tag is simply way too much!
