Liverpool open talks for long-term deal with German international

emrecanLiverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are celebrating the news that a key-player could cement his future at Anfield, with a new deal set to be offered.

The Guardian states Liverpool have opened talks with German international Emre Can regarding a long-term deal, as they aim to keep Jurgen Klopp’s key player at Anfield for the long-term.

22-year-old Can, who’s currently with Germany and preparing for the European Championship’s in France, emerged as a key player for Klopp after the former Borussia Dortmund boss took charge at Anfield midway through the last campaign.

Can is midway through the deal he signed at Liverpool when he joined from Bayer Leverkusen two-years ago but the Reds are hoping for a swift resolution with the player’s representatives, with it likely a deal is agreed before the new season.

Our landlord feels this is a smart move from Liverpool as continued top performances from Can will likely lead to a wealth of interest from bigger sides.
