As one of our punters quips here in the Football Transfer Tavern, we can understand how some of the summer arrivals may have found it difficult to settle.
Despite this, Metro claim that Iago Aspas will not be forced out of the club.
The former Celta Vigo player has struggled to adapt to life in the top flight of English football and has even been linked with a loan move back to Spain.
The creative force has denied this will be the case however and claimed that he is ready and willing to fight for a place in Brendan Rodgers’ starting line up.
Aspas spoke to Marca and claimed: “I want to make it at Liverpool. I’m sure the fans will see the best of me soon.”
He further elaborated on his time at the club so far and noted: “I knew I was coming to one of the biggest clubs in Europe to play alongside world-class players.
“I was always in the team at Celta and it was plain sailing. Here at Liverpool I have to earn my place, just like any other signing.”
As one of our regulars notes, Aspas will have further chances to impress this season and with the fixtures increasing over the festive period, he will certainly be one of the players Rodgers will call upon, even if it is from the bench.
