Liverpool plot £8m Suarez contingency plan

remy.jpgAfter getting over the shock of seeing star striker Luis Suarez banned for 10 matches, Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are left enjoying their 6-0 thrashing of Newcastle United when news emerges that the Reds are lining up a summer move for QPR striker Loic Remy.

The Sunday Express reports that Remy will act as a short-term replacement for Suarez, who is set to miss the first six games of next season, alongside January signing Daniel Sturridge and Liverpool will meet relegated QPR’s £8 million release clause to bring the Frenchman to Anfield.

The former Marseille striker has netted five times for Harry Redknapp’s strugglers in his nine games since his January move from the Stade Velodrome and he now looks set to depart Loftus Road when the Hoops are relegated back to the Championship.

Liverpool have to hope that Suarez will remain at the club despite his suspension and interest from Bayern Munich while the Reds should be also be able to call on Andy Carroll who returns from his season-long loan at West Ham United to further strengthen their attack for the new campaign.

Could he be the Remy-dy to Liverpool’s striking problems? Rate this rumour below.
