According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool are hoping to seal a deal for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Emre Can.
The midfielder is believed to have been on the radar of Liverpool for almost two years after the German Under-21 international midfielder impressed scouts at a tournament in Mexico.
The powerful left footed midfielder, who can also drop in just in front of the defence, only joined Bayer Leverkusen in last summer after leaving Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
And Munich could still end up with Can back at the club if they choose to trigger a buy-back clause they left in the deal when they sold their man.
But if Munich don’t act on the clause Brendan Rodgers could swoop for their man and hope to lure him to England with the promise of Champions League football.
Liverpool have watched Leverkusen several times this season, with 18-year-old starlet Julian Brandt also impressing.
